We were met at the door graciously and seated right away. The server was quickly to the table to take our drink order as well as offering chargrilled oysters. We ordered both. The oysters were the best we have had in New Orleans and I can tell you we've had a few over the years. The shrimp platter was the best I've ever eaten. Tender shrimp with a great batter, perfectly fried. Great service, great food in a great place. It is a pleasure to dine in a well run restaurant.

Delicious! Everything we had from start to finish was great! Service was good, very friendly, and the restaurant has a nice feel to it. The bar area is open to the oyster shucking and open flame grill, a fun time.

I didn't have the energy to sit at a restaurant so I ordered delivery. Drago's is known to have good food but I wasn't sure if that would translate through delivery. I was pleasantly surprised. The lobster pasta was good. I also loved my shrimp bites. My only negative would be I wish the food was warmer.

Drago's is a top contender for the number one seafood restaurant in the NOLA metro area. As a lover of charbroiled oysters, they are definitely in the top two of places to try in the area. With a full menu of local traditional and typical seafood (and other) offerings you can't go wrong with anything on the menu however, as a huge fan of their charbroiled oysters, it's your best bet IMHO. The oysters taste of a delightful blend of smoke and flame, butter, garlic and melty Parmesan. Fresh French bread chunks dipped in all the garlic butter and flavoring from the empty oyster shells top off the meal. Paired with an ice cold beer, you have a completed meal that will make your tummy full with happiness. Highly recommended.

Tried the original Drago's location out, and was not disappointed at all!! Ordered the chargrilled oysters. By far the best oysters I've ever had!! The butter was still sizzling when they were served with just the right amount of fresh lemons and delicious bread for sopping up all the deliciousness. Sat at the bar, and service was friendly and on point. Will be visiting Drago's again next time I'm in NOLA!!

As those who follow my reviews know, I live in several different cities for various amounts of time throughout the year. I try to get back to New Orleans at least twice each year and these charbroiled oysters are always a top priority to go and get. Honestly, it's the sauce for me, as I'm a big sauce guy in general. I dip the bread in the stuff, scoop and pour it over the oysters, and my mouth and taste buds go to heaven. Only buzzkill was the drink not being filled to the top (which as all of us social media folks now know, for martinis especially, that is where nearly half the drink is, mathematically as the cup brim gets wider) maybe this was to leave room for the egg white foam but unfortunately I didn't see any on either - which is also a fan favorite thing of mine in general (foam). Especially with the price (and as a NY and LA resident where life is expensive, I'm not often shocked by prices of drinks) All that being said, the vibe was great, and people were friendly and attentive. Food came out quick and did not disappoint. There's been some debate on where the downtown NOLA location stacks up, and I'll say as far as the charbroiled oysters are concerned, seeing as that's what they're known for, there's no noticeable difference. Having had both, they're both amazing and you'll be alright no matter where you choose. Makes sense since if I was a multi location owner I'd want to make sure the thing I'm known for is consistent everywhere!

New Orleans hospitality is always above 100%... We went to dinner as a family already knowing we would be in for a wait. The was one hour but I'd you found something at the bar you can sit. We found three seats at the bar within 10 minutes. As soon as we sat we were served immediately... Chargeilled Oysters ans gumbo for appetizers. Oyster hot off the grill dripping with garlic butter. The gumbo full of okra and shrimp, both were DELICIOUS!! For dinner we ordered: Mac Daddy trio- twin filet mingion( cooked medium, well seasoned nonknofe needed to cut so tender) Lobster tail w/ drawn butter and lobster mac and cheese(cheesy loaded with lobster meat and the bread crumbs were buttery), Seafood pasta fully loaded with shrimp and crab meat. Lastly we had the Crawfish feast fried crawfish tails. Crawfish etouffe and crawfish mac n cheese... All was said to be good. Although the ambiance was set for a night of love for most with the candles and dim lights the family atmosphere was not forgotten by the restaurant. This is my favorite restaurant here I Louisiana when visiting.

New Orleans (metro) club classic - definitely a must stop every time I'm in town and I hope the coming Super Bowl crowd will check it out! Claims to be the inventor of the famous charbroiled oyster, whether or not that's true they're the best in town. Fresh, grilled in the centre of the restaurant, and dripping in their butter-cheese blend, it is a must order! Definitely ask for extra bread to dip in the remaining sauce! Main courses are mostly fine to above average, another highlight for the menu is the Fleur de lis shrimp appetiser, perfectly fried shrimp covered with an aioli which is basically like a hot wing sauce NOLA style. Service is excellent per New Orleans standard, always feel very taken care of and they will refill bread for you without hesitation. Restaurant can be kind of loud, though there are different sectioned rooms to sit in. I love sitting in the main section where you can see the charbroiled oyster station to watch the fire every once in a while! Parking is tight in the area, free, but if the lot is too full they'll have you park at a satellite lot down the street and walk about 2-3 minutes.

We came here on a Friday for an early dinner and we were seated right away. The restaurant is in Fat city Metairie so parking can be limited. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed seeing the Mardi Gras Christmas tree. And the restaurant does have Abita beer so I started with a strawberry ale. We had the alligator bites which came with Remoulade sauce. Absolute heaven. We also had a dozen charbroiled oysters, which were phenomenal. For my meal I had the shrimp and grits. I like the version that is not red sauce better, but it was very tasty. The waitstaff was very friendly
